Christian leverages his extensive debt markets and fixed income expertise to advise Foros clients on capital structure matters and debt financing strategies.
Prior to joining Foros, Christian was Co-Head of Fixed Income, Americas for BNP Paribas. In that capacity, he was also a member of the Fixed Income Executive Committee, the CIB North America Regional Management Committee, and the Advisory Board to Banco BNP Paribas Brazil. Prior to being promoted to head Fixed Income in 2011, Christian was Head of Fixed Income Trading in the Americas and Global Co-Head of Credit Trading, setting business strategy for Global Credit while overseeing Interest Rate, Foreign Exchange and Credit Trading in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Christian has over 25 years’ experience in fixed income, currencies and derivatives markets, starting his career at Citibank in 1989. He joined Paribas’ New York office in 1991, spent two years in Derivatives Marketing and then transferred to US Dollar Swaps Trading in 1993. While in New York, he became Chief Dealer for Interest Rate Derivatives and built a global US Dollar derivatives franchise. In 2000, Christian was promoted to Head of Interest Rate Derivatives Trading for BNP in Tokyo, where he established BNP’s Interest Rate/FX hybrids business. Following two years in Tokyo, Christian moved to London where he managed BNP’s Swaps and Governments, Supras and Agencies trading for Europe, Japan and Asia for four years as Head of Long Term Interest Rates Trading. In 2006, he returned to New York to become Head of BNP’s Interest Rate Group and build an MBS activity.
Christian has actively contributed to the development of the Fixed Income industry. He was a founding chairman of the European Primary Dealers Association (EPDA), an affiliate of The Bond Market Association (TBMA). This group was the first dealers’ forum of its kind to address specific primary and secondary markets issues arising across the Euro government securities markets. Christian was a member of the board of directors of the BMA in 2005 and 2006, representing both the EPDA then BNP. In recognition of his role in the formation of the EPDA, he received the TBMA Chairman’s Achievement Award. In 2010/2011, he co-Chaired the Rates Committee of AFME and SIFMA.
Christian also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Markit, a provider of financial information services to banks, funds, auditors and regulators across the globe.
