Since joining in founding Foros, Simon has advised clients on a diverse set of transactions, including Consolidated Communications on its $1.5 billion acquisition of FairPoint Communications and the sale of its IT Services Equipment Business to ePlus; Harte Hanks on its $112 million divestiture of Trillium Software to Syncsort; Advance on its $500 million acquisition of 1010data; Interactive Data Corporation on its $3.4 billion sale to Warburg Pincus and SilverLake; E.W. Scripps on its purchase of the McGraw-Hill broadcast assets; ActivIdentity on its sale to Assa Abloy; BlueWater on its sale to Presidio; Rave Review Cinemas on the sale of its theater assets to AMC Entertainment and Carmike Cinemas; Feld Entertainment on the sale of IHRA; Apollo on the acquisition of Great Wolf; AMC Entertainment on the sale of select theaters; and Feld Entertainment on the refinancing of its bank loan and the private placement of a $50 million note. During 2012, Simon was part of the Foros team that advised the FCC on the structure of the wireless communications industry.
Prior to joining Foros, Simon was a Senior Vice President in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Investment Banking Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Prior to joining Goldman, Simon was an Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette in Johannesburg, South Africa where he focused on companies within the technology, media and telecommunications sector.
Simon earned a B.A. in Finance at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and an M.B.A. (with honors) from Columbia Business School.
